Today I walked with Alana up a narrow hall to get to the public toilets at the shopping centre. As a woman in a wheelchair and her elderly companion came towards us they went to stop to let us through, but I moved us into a small gap and told them to go first. They were very polite and the elderly lady smiled sweetly while saying thanks. As they started moving, cue the tall young guy staring down at his phone and barging from behind me through the gap Id just created for the two ladies :-/. It makes me feel old to complain about the youth these days lol, but seriously?! I can only hope I instil in my own kids politeness and etiquette, it seems to be lacking these days!
