Today, I want to challenge us. Are you really submitted to God’s - TopicsExpress

Today, I want to challenge us. Are you really submitted to God’s will for your life especially in the area of your relationship? Do you trust God with the love of your life? Many of us will be quick to say ‘yes’ but let me put this into perspective. so many single because of superficial reasons. We don’t like this guy because he is too dark, short, poor, not of our tribe, race, etc. We also don’t like certain girls because they have babies, loud, older, can’t cook, etc. But what if that man or woman was God’s choice for you? Would you say yes or would you try to negotiate with God? The bible says that God’s ways are not ours and neither are His thoughts (Isaiah 55:8). It also says that we are all fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139: 14) and we all have fallen short of the glory of God in one way or another ( Romans 3:23). The bible also says that God answers our prayers (John 15:16). Yes, you are praying for a spouse. You have been for a long time. He has answered your prayer but have you received it? Are you seeing that man/woman or are you still waiting for Mr. or Ms. Right? Are you fully submitted to God’s will for your life even if it isn’t what you had in mind? Will you trust Him to take care of you even as you choose to obey Him by marrying that lady or man with a child, that non-virgin, that person of a different tribe or race? Look around you. God has amazing plans for us. Plans to make us prosper and give us a hope and a future (Jer 29:11). And to work with God, you need to submit to Him in every sector of your life. Are you doing so in your relationships? God would never take you where He hasn’t prepared you for and He will never bring you this far only to leave you behind. He is always with us and He will never forsake us (Hebrews 13:5) As for me, God has not told me that Kyle is the one. He may be perfect for me according to me but not to God. And I have resolved to walk where God says I walk. There will be a point I may not agree with Him and my prayer for myself, is that I may want His desires above my own, His will above my own and that I will see what I should be seeing not what I expect to see. Make this your prayer too. I thank God for He knows we are human and He knows how to deal with us. Look around you. Is your spouse so near yet you cannot ‘see’? ~Dezmond Efretuei
