Today I was feeling a little down, in a bit of a funk, for no seemingly particular reason, so I took a trip down memory lane, in the form of digging around in my memory bin that my mommy stashed all that stuff in when I was growing up - the stuff youll never use again, but cant - as a parent - bear to throw away. Mostly pictures I had drawn and old birthday cards. But then I came across this, and was reminded of how incredibly blessed my life has been, ever since I was a child. The accident this pertains to left me paralyzed from the waist down for 6 months. I was expected to never walk again - the doctors originally gave me a 17% chance. Last night I ran a mile. Not only was that a miracle and a blessing, but so were the uncountable friends and family who came forward to help and support not only me (during BOTH of my terrible accidents, I might add...), but my family. Whether it was babysitting, delivering meals, making foot warmers (Jenny Smith, pushing me around hallways in school or the hospital, carrying me up and down stairs (IN the wheelchair Frank Gerchman and Ted Jones) I love you all so much, and although we may have drifted apart over the years as our lives got busier, I will NEVER forget nor cease to appreciate the kindness and love showed to me and my family during those times.
