Today I was talking to a friend/colleague about his experience in the Vietnam War. He told me that in order survive and stay unnoticed to his enemy he would have to kill water buffalo by hand and eat it raw. As he spoke I saw his gaze drift back in time and shake his head with remorse. Im sure this was only the tip of the iceberg of his experience in Vietnam. I was stunned and silenced by his recollection. I also have close relationships with other vets from different wars. I dont support our government declaring war on any country, but for the men and women who are thrown into that kind of hell I will always show my deepest respect and honor the sacrifices they have made. Today is not Veterans Day but today I commemorate all of them and say thank you. Im honored to be your friend.
