Today, I went to my prosthetist to be measured for my socket (the carbon fiber sleeve that goes over my stump). He also measured the distance of my knee to the floor and my ischium (butt bone) to the floor. Next week (October 1) I go back to try it all on. We will be using a temporary setup to assure the measurements are correct. When he is assured all is right, the following week (October 8) I will don my new leg and walk for the first time since July 4. I know that once the leg is on, the real work begins.
