Today I went to the Christian Homes & Family Services luncheon, where Liz Curtis Higgs spoke. Ive read a couple of her books (Bad Girls of the Bible), but she was amazing in person. The quote that struck me most was, It makes me sad that women walk around apologetically. Her sentiment was that we are unaware of just how beautiful and loved we are, so we live our lives as if were sorry to be a bother. Sisters, I am tired of walking around apologetically! Thus is why I post pics of myself and my awesome side-buns! I believe in a God who created me to be the beautiful, intelligent, snarky, compassionate woman that I am. Further, He has placed other, EQUALLY, beautiful, intelligent, snarky, compassionate women in my life. That we may spur each other on to good deeds. We dont have all our crap together all the time. We arent the worst moms, friends, people in the universe, either. We are each doing doing the BEST we can with what today has given us. Lets cut the crap and do better about being HUMAN. (end PSA)
