Today I would like to thank and praise God for His sovereignty. There are many places in the bible that speak of Gods sovereignty and I have included three verses below. What exactly is sovereignty? It is Gods absolute right to do all things according to His good pleasure. He is the creator of all things, He is sovereign over all things, He knows all things, and is present with all things. These are definitions from bible.org and biblegateway . What does that all mean to us? I look at it that though He is the Creator of all things and placed the stars in the heavens and gave us the earth to live upon that He still cares individually for each one of us. He listens to our prayers and takes care of our needs. We could get into a huge theological discussion about it but in His sovereignty He shows us His great love, mercy, wisdom, righteousness, goodness, compassion. Abba Father - Creator of all things!! You are the Sovereign King of Kings and Lord of Lords!!! Even in the prophecies of old it is spoken of the Son of man who is Your beloved Son - the Lord Jesus Christ - who has and will fulfill all the prophecies concerning Him!!! And yet You care for the sparrows and all Your creation. Oh Lord I can scarcely take it all in - just Who You are and were and are to come!!! I praise You!!! 1 Timothy 6:14-16 To keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which he will display at the proper time—He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen. Daniel 7:13-14 As my vision continued that night, I saw someone like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven! He approached the Ancient One and was led into His presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power over all nations of the world so that people of every race, nation and language would obey Him. His rule is eternal - it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed. Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.
