Today, Im clinging to Proverbs 26:2: Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest. This morning I found out that a loved one has been saying that Im a failure, disappointment, and waste of potential. That stung and made me question my value, but I wont let it linger for long because this is completely antithetical to everything I know about God and myself to be true. I know without a shadow of a doubt that when God looks at me, at us, in fact, that hes so full of pride and love and hope. Dear Ones, dont let anyone tell you anything less than you are wonderfully made and are brimming over with potential to change the world because the truth is.....WE ARE! When we put our hands to do the work of making this world a better place, God beams with pride- we are his children practicing the family business of shalom. When we seek peace and wholeness, the potential to heal this hurting world is unlimited. Lets live into that truth and watch the lies that aim to chip away at our resolve flutter off our shoulders and away from our hearts.
