Today Im grateful: 1. Maria del Carmen, Nathaniel Ehud de la Fuente and I spent an incredible week in Houston with Zoe de la Fuente and Bianca de la Fuente. We visited the Johnson Space Center,The Houston Zoo, an Astros game, and several museums 2. Ive realized my kids are adventurous. We jumped out of an airplane at 14,000 feet and sky dived back to earth 3. Our chef at Maracas Bar and Grill, Belize had an emergency yesterday, and the manager also had a day off. So I cooked and Cindy worked the floor outside. I now know that restaurant and bar is hard work and wont make me rich. Its been years since we worked so hard. But we make a good team 4. I was creating a new play list on You Tube. For no reason at all, tears started rolling down my eyes when I listened to the song, Time to say goodbye by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman. I thought of my kids and how much they have grown and changed. 5. One night in Houston Cindy and I cooked dinner for the girls and their friends at Biancas apartment. I noticed that as I cooked, Bianca was right beside me cleaning up. I could hardly move. Most surprising was that she now cooks her own meals very often. She even eats tomatoes and veggies now! As a child, the only time she ate fruit was once when I dared her to eat a slice of Cantaloupe for money 6. Last week when Zoes boyfriend was running errands with me in Houston, he asked me for Zoes hand in marriage. I said yes. I did not know it was supposed to be a surprise and I told everyone. I feel Edmund Nisbet will be a great husband to her and a devoted father to their kids. I think Zoe chose well.
