Today In Rock History – January 23 1910 – The great jazz guitarist, Django Reinhardt (Jean Baptiste Reinhardt), was born in Liverchies, Belgium. 1948 – Vocalist for the Pointer Sisters, Anita Pointer, was born today in Oakland, CA. 1950 – Bruce Springsteen’s The E Street Band’s keyboardist, Danny Federici, was born. 1950 – Box Tops bassist Bill Cunningham was born in Memphis, TN. 1953 – Robin Zander, the front man with Cheap Trick, was born in Rockford, Ill. 1978 – Founder and guitarist of Chicago, Terry Kath, dies after a self-inflicted gunshot wound. 1981 – Stone City Attractions presents Cheap Trick and the Michael Stanley Band at the San Antonio Convention Center Arena. 1984 – Stone City Attractions presents Dokken at the Cardi’s Club in Houston, TX. 1986 – The first annual induction ceremony for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is held in New York.
