Today In The Archives: Today’s document is an original candidate pamphlet for Irene Harris Rocos of Houston County. She ran for State Senator in the General Election on November 2, 1976. Ms. Rocos is a Houston County native. Houston County has had several local residents run for many state offices since the counties beginnings in 1871. This week the Archives is highlighting some great documents from our Election Records and Memorabilia Collection in honor of Election Day which is tomorrow, August 7th. The Houston County Archives is actively seeking and collecting all forms of Election Records and Memorabilia to add to our ever growing collection. This can be items from years ago or items from elections that are happening today. If you have any of these types of records, please consider donating them to the Houston County Archives.
