Today I’m overwhelmingly thankful for Jesus. I was walking in death. I was heading in the complete opposite direction of the cross. I was helpless and desperate, and I was searching, but I didn’t know what for. I was lost and confused, dirty and dying. I was relentlessly running towards a terribly tragic ending. I looked Him in the face and said, “NO.” But He didn’t give up on me. He wouldn’t stop chasing me. Out of love, He sought me out and pursued me unremittingly. He was and is more in love with my heart than I was, despite its brokenness and disgracefulness. He is the reason that I will live when I die. Jesus is the reason I have life. He is the reason that I breathe, and the reason that I will never stop breathing. Because it is His fiery passion for me…for you too, in case you didn’t know… that drove Him to die on the cross, and raise again. So now, I get to look forward to sitting at the table with my Father, the One who shouldn’t love me at all, but loves me the most anyway. I get to enter the gates of Heaven, not because of anything I’ve done or anything that I am, simply because of who He is and what He chose to do. On top of my thankfulness for my Dad and His love for me, He also gave me all of you freaking incredible friends and family. My heart is overjoyed at the thought of all of you. My soul is bettered by the presence of yours! I don’t deserve a darn thing, but He gave me real life, and beautiful friends to know, learn from, and live life with. For God loves the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 And when you were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive with Him and forgave us all our trespasses. Colossians 2:13 HAPPY THANKZGIVINGgGgGGGGG
