Today (January 20th) we celebrate St Sebastians feast day! St Sebastian is the patron Saint of soldiers and athletes and others. Hes also the patron Saint of some Cities in Europe as well as Rio de Janeiro Brazil. Bad ass dude, was a commander at the Roman Emperors court under emperor Diocletian who also ordered him to death since he was spreading faith as a Christian (persecution of Christians). The tied him to a stake and shot him full with arrows, left him to die but he survived!? He was brought back to life by Irene of Rome and right away when he was healthy he went back to Diocletian in person and criticized him, this time though they clubbed him to death and made sure the job was done. Since his name is Sebastian and hes the patron Saint of athletes as well, I thought to mention this here! Godspeed! Bas
