Today, Jordan Davis would have turned 19 if a coward empowered - TopicsExpress

Today, Jordan Davis would have turned 19 if a coward empowered with a gun didnt act like judge, jury, executioner in the broad day light because black boys he thought were grown men and deemed as thugs and gang members simply for listening to loud rap music refused to do as he said. Thank God this happened in front of witnesses so his killer is going to jail for something at least, if not for his murder. Thank God that at least one juror (I am guessing maybe the sole black man on the jury) did not buckle under pressure to issue a verdict and deadlocked. I am disappointed the prosecution was so fearful of race it failed to bring up the obvious elephant in the room: that Dunn would not shoot a car full of white kids blasting country or rock music loudly because he would value their lives more. Looking at the police video which revealed all the inconsistencies of Michael Dunns story from day one , it is quite apparent he thought he could shoot at a car full of black thugs, go to his hotel, drink wine, order pizza, then eventually go home to see his new puppy and wouldnt have to call the cops. He did not think he would get charged with murder if he claimed he felt threatened under the Florida stand your ground law. It was clear from that video he was shocked to learn hed be charge with murder. That says there is a perception among people who think like Dunn that they could act on irrational fear of blacks, claim Stand Your Ground and get to go back to a comfortable and wonderful life (as he described it in that video) ( just like George Zimmerman did) Clearly, the man thought his life mattered more. RIP Jordan Davis. Its so sad the jury didnt get to learn about how human you were, of the fact you had no history of violence or a criminal record and that you were far from a thug as in Dunns delusional and racist mind. Its so sad the jury didnt get to see the hate-filled letter Dunn wrote in jail which would have showed his fear was fueled by hatred of blacks and was not normal, thus he was not deserving of the protection that that stupid law affords killers who evoke it. Going to hug my boys today and keep them as far away as possible from SYG states.
