Today Joshua had some set backs with his breathing. He continued to have excellerations with his heart rate. It would be good then all sudden go to dropping an then few seconds later itd pick back up. (Common in preemies) He continued to do this most of the day. so I got call from his NICE nurse letting us know itd continued even after I had left so his doctor decided to have him put back on the ventilator. They done an ultrasound of his stomach an heart area. Doctor that done it said he didnt see nothing abnormal but they also have cardiologist look at it for 2nd opinion. They are checking his urine an blood for infection. However takes 48 hours for results so to be on safe side they gonna go ahead with antibiotics. If test come back negative they will stop them but if not he will already be them. Just another precaution measure. They had told us theyd be up an downs an set backs from time to time. You just feel so helpless an get so worried knowing theres nothing you can do to help your child. Not to mention all these test an procedures they do that you can only pray comes back normal and/or negative. Hes still tolerating his feeding but they did increase his calories to help him gain weight. The only thing they say is he wouldnt be breathing on his own if not born yet (would be only 29 weeks gestation at this point) so he is just still needing help until his little lungs mature an are stronger. They say preemies this small just need little more help an time. Its like everything is so great then theres a set back. All totally normal with preemies but you really hate those set backs. Just please continue to keep Joshua in your prayers. Will update as I can. Thanks for all comments on pictures. He is mommies lil precious baby boy!
