Today Katrina said to me, The days are getting REALLY long, and I am wondering when we will go up to heaven with Jesus... Her question reminded me. Im thankful to Jesus. Who was forever happy in the arms of God the Father. But He left all the glories of heaven to become a single cell inside an unwed mothers body. Im thankful for Jesus. Who lived a perfect, holy, sinless life; even though he got cold and hungry and tired and hurt and weak just like we do. With His perfect record He could have rightly scorned all the rest of humanity. He could have said, I did it. I obeyed the Father always. Whats wrong with you? God is your Creator. You owe Him everything. Can you do something right for a change? But rather than using His righteousness to condemn us, He made plans with the Father instead. His words from the cross echo in our ears, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. My God, my God, why have You forsaken me? And It is finished. (paid in full). In effect He said, [My life for yours. My Fathers opinion is the only One that really matters. I will bear your shame before Him. You will bear my identity to His throne and find acceptance.] Im thankful to God, the Giver of all good things: life and breath and EVERY good thing. He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. He gives food to all flesh. Im thankful that His generosity and mercy arent like mine. But my graciousness toward others should be like His. Im thankful that He is not only willing to give me grace to be a part of his forever family, but grace to be kind and loving towards others who dont deserve it either and invite them to be part of His forever family too.
