Today Lake County was in the national spotlight, as the National Park Service added Paisley Caves to the list of the most important archaeology sites in the country. As if to emphasize the importance of our local heritage sites, 3 of the 7 archaeology sites in Oregon on the National Register of Historic Places, are in Lake County. Lake County history is very important locally, and at the state and federal level.
