Today Michael Brown was buried. His funeral is not the last of him. May God Bless and keep his family through this difficult time. Whether we know or even understand Michael Browns death became a horrific reminder to many of us of how far we have come, but how much further we need to go. We walk this way by faith and pray that there is understanding and love to those who perpetrate with hate and venom. Someone at the march for justice in #ferguson said they felt the only way that they would be able to receive the press they did was because of the looting. It really made me wonder about that statement and my opinion of looters... which is basically are they really thieves taking advantage of an opportunity to collect the loot they may have been watching anyway. But, after I heard the interview I had to stop and think. How the numbers of Black Men & Women are being accosted - hurt, maimed and of course way too many are being killed by police officers. Now, the world is watching in disbelief, newspapers and think tanks are reviewing data and publishing the extraordinary numbers of those who have died by the guns, hands or tasers of some of these corrupt police officers, who by the way, receive no penalty. Amazing and wrong. It is high time our justice systems gets to work and Eric Holders and his boys do their job and change this terrible paradigm.
