Today Mount Shasta ! Taylas Travel schedule take us from Sequim, Washington to Ashland, Oregon to Palo Alto, CA ... After a bountiful breakfast of Paul Newmans Own chicken and rice breakfast, Tayla and friends are back on the road again... Taylas Travels takes us through gorgeous green Oregon where we stop to visit with our dear 94-year-old friend and her family. We departed with a basket of her homemade dried fruit and herb nuts, canned jellies and chutney. What a treat! We ventured south to Ashland, OR where we stayed overnight. Today we are heading to Bay Area in Northern California. Beautiful drive with clear views of stunning mountains and pine tree forests. Check out the stunning footage of Mount Shasta (attached). Located in Siskiyou County, California, Mount Shasta (Karuk: Úytaahkoo or White Mountain) is a potentially active volcano located at the southern end of Cascades. At 14,179 feet (4,322 m), it is the second highest peak in the Cascades and the fifth highest in California. Mount Shasta is the the most voluminous stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc. Passing by the lakes today, we noticed Lake Shasta was very low, and an unfinished section of bridge hovering over, sign of the times, I guess. Well return to this beautiful area in the spring to enjoy hiking and biking at Mount Shasta, Castle Crags or the Trinity Alps. The scenery is spectacular, and there are endless outlets for skiing, biking and hiking. After a rest stop in the town of Weed (no kidding!) Tayla is back to napping in the back seat while we drive on.
