Today, October 16th, 2014 marks a very meaningful day in the lives of my brother and I. It marks the day when we left our native land of coastal Ecuador in 1985; where we left our precious familia, our community, the waters of the Pacific ocean, the joys and blessings of our innocence. It marks the day when we reunited with our parents in a foreign land called Boston, MA where we had to grow up with tenacity and courage, where we met our parents truly for the first time, where we learned how harsh and beautiful life can be. Today marks a day where my brother and I created the deepest bond two human beings can create, to love and be there for each other no matter what. I love you bro Leo Alarcon and I feel sO deeply blessed to have taken this migratory journey with you!
