Today Paul Cairney and I hooked up with the Island Mountain Ramblers and had a great time taking Judges Route in winter conditions. It is nothing like summer at all, ice axe and crampons are a must. It was warm in the forest with thick snow starting at the old growth and once we hit the alpine it was deep but frozen solid which was nice or we would have been post holing. At the summit the wind was extremely strong and bone chilling with thick cloud. Regardless it was a great day and cant wait to head back to do the main gully from the climbers route. Today would be a B2 in my books
