Today Pick of the Week SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – After a so-so weekend at best, today will be much improved! It’s a chilly start this morning with temperatures near freezing however it is bright and sunny and we should hang onto the sun through the day. As the kids head back to school this morning just make sure they have the thicker jackets on as a chill will be in the air for a little while this morning. There may be a few clouds mixing in this afternoon but it will stay nice and pleasant with highs reaching into the middle 60′s. (right about were we should be for this time of year) Today will be the pick of the week though as our weather slowly goes downhill starting tomorrow. A slow-moving storm system, the same one bringing severe weather to the nations mid section and south, will slide towards us. However, high pressure to the east will keep most the rain at bay until mid-week. Clouds move in tomorrow with a few showers possible late in the day then rain move in Wednesday and Thursday with the steadiest and heaviest rain late Wednesday into Thursday morning.
