Today, Prince Carl Philip visited Waldemarsudde. During the visit the prince saw two exhibitions: Inspirations Matisse! and partly Contemporary Nordic Graphics - The Queen Sonja Poster Award. Inspiration Matisse! illustrates the importance Henri Matisse (1869-1959) had for several large Swedish painters, among them Isac Grünewald, Sigrid Hjertén and Einar Jolin. The exhibition is based on both the works from its own collection and many borrowed works. The exhibition Contemporary Nordic graphics is based on a host of lens biggest prizes for graphics - The Queen Sonja Poster Award instituted by Norway’s Queen Sonja 2012 together with the artists Kjell Nu and Örnulf Opdahl. The prize is awarded every two years to young graphic artists and consists of a cash prize of 400,000 Norwegian kroner and a working stay at Studio Larsen, one of the premier printmaking workshops in the north. At the exhibition at Waldemarsudde presents works by the 2014 winner, Svend-Allan Sorensen, together with previously successful Tiina Kivinen and along with works of the founders of the price.
