Today, Saturday, next door, early in the morning, A huge excavator - TopicsExpress

Today, Saturday, next door, early in the morning, A huge excavator is squealing, smashing, grinding and thumping just 10 feet from my house as the work is stepped up on the new building in town. I am once again grateful today for my stubbornness back in about 2006 when a local real estate agent stopped by to offer me $200K for the house my mother had bought, my youngest child had been born in and in which my other two children had grown up in. The tiny piece of land where I had let the trees grow and had my vegetable gardens, and chickens and rabbits. The house in which we could have died back on New Years Eve, 04, when a suspicious fire broke out in the garage/barn down back and headed for the house where we slept, unknowing. The house that my son who came the closest to dying in that fire had rebuilt and refurbished when he was so sick and in pain from a motocross accident. I am grateful for the greed of the real estate agent who then informed me that afternoon, that she would make a million dollars when the deal went through. The rumor was that she was courting big chain drug stores. My pharmacist and the little convenience store next to her here in the center of town would have gone out of business, and her tenants would have lost their apartments if I had agreed to be the final piece of her puzzle. The machines this morning are not constructing a new CVS or Walgreens. I am also grateful that the former Falks Market site was bought by Jeff Kinney (author of the Wimpy Kid book series, and apparently a genuinely nice guy), and that it will be a book store and offices.
