Today South West LHIN Board Chair Jeff Low and CEO Michael Barrett were excited to attend the Southwest Aboriginal Health Access Centres Indigenous Cultural Competency (ICC) Training launch event. ICC Training is funded for health service providers in our LHIN by the South West LHIN and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. It is an 8-week online training course designed to help make health care more accessible for Indigenous people and to reduce health disparities caused by systemic racism. Local MPP Deb Matthews and other London community leaders came together to celebrate this great step toward a more equitable, culturally safe health care system.
