Today Speech at the Jewish Museum and Centre of tolerance VLADIMIR PUTIN: Dear friends! It 70 years ago, Soviet troops liberated the Auschwitz concentration camp, where the nazis massacred millions of people. And on this day - January 27 - addressing the United Nations declared the international day of commemoration of the victims of the Holocaust, one of the worst crimes against humanity. The tragedy of the Holocaust has become a symbol of the misery and pain, the ruthless brutality and contempt for human life. It is difficult to imagine that the real factory of death, executions and mass deportations have become a terrible reality of the 20th century, they have been carefully and calmly arranged in a civilized society, it seemed, Europe, namely coldly organized, planned. Now that we have seen the exhibition, you have also seen - it is systematic, the work of pre-ready to destroy people. Incredibly easy. But as history has shown, where people drive in the head the idea of national and racial superiority, sowing the seeds of hatred towards other nations, destroy and making fun of the traditional values of people out there to replace the civilization quickly and is inevitably true barbarism, but peace is replaced by violent conflicts, wars and aggression. The threatened Nazi enslavement of all the peoples of our multinational country. Their planned or forced to assimilate and be transformed into slaves, or simply destroy, make the so-called living space for the superior races. According to materials of the Nuremberg trials, in Europe during the Holocaust killed six million Jews. It is hard to believe these figures. No, somewhere in the fighting, but simply destroyed - burned in ovens shooting. Including among those millions, and hundreds of thousands of our compatriots. These crimes, there may be a limitation period. They not forgiveness, not oblivion. Any attempt to reduce to silence these events, to distort, to rewrite history are unacceptable and immoral. Often these attempts is the desire to hide its own shame - shame of cowardice, hypocrisy and betrayal, to justify, direct or indirect tacit complicity with the nazis in the exercise of their criminal policy. But the historical facts are irrefutable. Thus, they suggest that Bandera and other collaborators, accomplices of Hitler, have participated in the destruction of the Jewish people, the destruction of the Jews of Lviv, Odessa, Kiev and other institutions of the Ukraine, and the Baltic nazis carried out ethnic cleansing Riga, Kaunas, Vilnius and Tallinn. Today, on this tragic day, we pay tribute to all those who have been tortured by the nazis and their collaborators in the camps and ghettos concentration, the grief of millions of deaths in the fire of the bloodiest war in human history. I note that on the initiative of public and religious organizations, the Jewish organizations in Russia is looking for improvement and the mass graves of victims of the Holocaust, restored the names of the victims. This work deserves full support and will certainly continue to do so. Today, we commemorate and honor the courage of those who survived the horrors of the occupation, violence, humiliation, forced labour, who have endured inhumane tests and was not broken. Furthermore, in this regard, I cannot remember another date - today, we celebrate the day of the complete liberation of the nazi blockade of Leningrad. This is another example of the criminal massacre, which was organized by the nazis, killing civilians in cold blood Leningrad direct bombardment and artillery attack. We bow before a feat of soldiers and officers of the Red Army who defeated Nazism and stopped the terrible machine of destruction. They defended against not only their homeland attackers. Great mission of liberation became a matter of honor for all our peoples. In this regard, I would like to say that, of course - and we do that remember that - of course, the main burden on their shoulders in the fight against the nazis ordered the Russian people. 70 percent of all soldiers and officers of the Red Army - is the Russian people, and the main victim on the altar of victory was the Russian people. But here, in the walls of the Jewish Museum and Centre of tolerance, I would like to remind you again once a huge contribution to the victory over the enemy made Soviet citizens of Jewish nationality. Over half a million Jews fought in the Red Army, more than 40,000 - fought as partisan. Nearly a third (27 per cent) went to the front as a volunteer. And nearly 200,000 died in the fight for their country. The heroism of all nationalities, their selfless love of the fatherland, the willingness to sacrifice will forever remain in our memory, in grateful memory of the peoples of the Russia. And marking this year the 70th anniversary of the great victory, we will again and again to pay the warmest thanks to our dear former combatants, including those who are here, all those who fought selflessly for the freedom and independence of the country. Dear friends! Paying tribute to our memory, we must look to the future. Crimes like the Holocaust, must not be repeated. It is our common duty and, without exaggeration, the most important and urgent task for the international community. Yes, on the international scene over the past decades has undergone tremendous changes. However, we see that the world is still roam misanthropic ideas. We continue to face attempts to divide the society for national, racial or religious reasons. Anti-Semitism, Russophobia, aggressive intolerance towards other peoples, cultures and traditions. At some point, these primitive instincts used by the nazis, but today, they were adopted by the nationalists, extremists, terrorists in a number of countries and regions. We must work together to counter these threats. Set to defend peace and freedom of the people to defend the right of nations and peoples on the path of development. History indicates what terrible traits can make claims mankind to domination of the world, this attempts tragedies heavy to force pressure on sovereign States or disrespect their rights. And of course, we know all how dangerous and damaging two standards, indifference and the indifference to the fate of others. For example, in the case of the tragedy of today in the southeast of the Ukraine, where during several calendar months shot in Donbass in cold blood: Lugansk, other towns and villages. Let me say once again: today, in the 21st century, it is important to improve the effectiveness of the system of collective security, to promote the values of humanism and cooperation, and always remember the lessons of history. Finally, dear friends, you know, I cant share your own impressions of the film. Of course, all these camps of death and all that we often use the word Misanthropy, crime, what we know as the Holocaust. But, as this may sound ruthless, sometimes the words zamylivat we dont feel a blank value. And when you look at this documentary evidence, everything is back with a bang. You know that we are facing that humanity faces in these times, what people know. And, of course, we bow down in front of all those who died and all those who put an end to this massacre. Thank you
