Today, US District Court Richard Young (of Evansville) struck down Indianas ban on gay marriage and recognition of gay marriage. So, to all of my gay and lesbian friends of Knox County, I say this: If you can get to the clerks office on the 2nd floor of the big courthouse before 4pm, and you have all of the right materials.............. they will issue you a license to wed. I expect an appeal to be filed very soon, so finding an official to marry you (In Indiana, any judge, mayor, or city clerk can officiate a wedding, as well as any clergy member of a religious organization may solemnize a marriage) very quickly, would be the next step. Good Luck and Congratulations! Its about damn time. Bravo to the Knox County Clerks Office for doing the right thing.
