Today a buyer came to San Lorenzo to buy corn. First it is - TopicsExpress

Today a buyer came to San Lorenzo to buy corn. First it is measured in a box called a medida. A medida weighs 32 pounds. The red sack holds 7 medidas, 220 pounds. Once filled, they sew it shut. One guy carried it to the truck. His poor back. San Lorenzans reminded me that even though they might have beans and corn, they have to buy oil, and salt, and spices. Thus they sell the corn, even though they may need it later on in the year for food.
