Today, a judge told the IRS it has 30 days to put its story about how Lois Lerners emails went missing on paper - and then to swear to it. Tomorrow, another judge will weigh whether to let independent IT experts - people who have nothing to do with the IRS - take a stab at finding those same emails. Whatever the IRS claims in one case could end up as admissible evidence in the other. If youre the IRS, maybe an independent counsel doesnt look so bad these days.
