Today a story is breaking, reported by The New York Post, that the unemployment numbers/jobs report were falsified in the run up to the 2012 presidential election. (As of today, this story is not being reported by the mainstream media. Does this come as any surprise?) You remember all this, right? That conveniently, starting in August and going into September 2012, the unemployment rate fell below 8% for the first time in 43 months. The numbers were criticized by many, including former GE CEO Jack Walsh. Walsh called out the numbers and in response, he was branded by the sycophantic media as a unemployment-rate truther.” The decline — from 8.1 percent in August to 7.8 percent in September — might not have been all it seemed. The numbers, according to a reliable but currently anonymous source in the report by The New York Posts John Crudele, were manipulated. The September 2012 unemployment/jobs reports flew in the face of much empirical evidence that many US workers had given up on trying to find a job, thus were no longer counted as officially unemployed. And the real unemployment numbers were actually rising, to over 11%. What impact on the 2012 presidential election, did the unemployment numbers falling below 8%, have? Was its impact even greater that the president continuing to mislead the electorate with his pledge that, If you like your health insurance plan, you can keep it. Period!
