Today, according to Anderson Cooper, the Israeli/Palestinian conflict went from a military action to war. And today, one familys story in the midst of that war touched our house. My daughter who works in the AT&T call center came home today saying that one phone call brought her to tears. I felt so so bad for this lady, mom, she said when I picked her up after work. Oh? Tell me about it, I said. (my favorite response) A lady called in to see if she could add more international minutes to her phone, she said. That is a pretty everyday request for us. But her reason was...not everyday. Her daughter is spending the summer in an archaeological dig near Tel Aviv. Last night there were bombs in Israel. The mom and dad were on the phone with their daughter all night, directing her from house-to-house of their friends in Israel, trying to get her to safety. She wants to leave, but for some reason cant fly out until Friday, and then she must travel from the Tel Aviv Airport -- if it is still possible. We just want to stay in touch with her, the mom pleaded. I dont care how much it costs, can we add more international minutes? There are two nations at war, and missiles are flying. This is BIG stuff. But sometimes in the midst of BIG stuff, God gives us little stuff. In this case, our unique prayer assignment is for one special family that needs to be brought back together. Please join us as we pray for this girls safety, that she will return home safely, and all the land of Israel and Palestine, that they will be brought to peace.
