Today, after our Family Festival concert “Behold the Bold Umbrellaphant,” conductor Sameer Patel and narrator Walter Ritter met with our audience in the lower lobby… and many of their fans were quite small! Thanks to all who joined us for this Family Festival Series presentation. I love conducting concerts aimed at young audiences and their families. The reality of the world we live in today is that any given performance may be a young concertgoers first and only time experiencing the symphony orchestra in a live concert. And so as a conductor its almost like missionary work, with the great responsibility that comes along with it. For me, I see it as a privilege to share this incredible art form and show our audience that this timeless music has the ability to move, touch, and inspire people, no matter their age or background. -Sameer Patel, conductor
