Today again went to Basai -activity was much lower than last week - maybe because of too much of human activity (too many photographers around). Anyways saw the black-winged kite, yellow and black bittern- no cinnamon, scores of Pheasant tailed jacana, a solitary sparrowlark, few prinia, scores of purple swamphen, silverbills, egrets, black-headed ibis, red-naped Ibis ( in flight as also spot-billed duck), green bee-eaters, wire-tailed swallow, blackbreasted weavers nesting....... Also the green sandpipers have arrived. No watercock this week! Will post some close-ups today! Purple swamphen, Basai, haryana, 17 July 2014
