Today am moved to thank you Annexarians. Not because my candidate won. No! Because Annex won. When guys qeued for hours to vote in exercise of their political rights, it was not a show of allegiance to any political camp, but a show of allegiance to the spirit of comradeship! It was an eloquent expression of Annexarians desire of a leadership that will shift the paradigms or that the unity that delivers. Our plea, our long held desire, our cherished dreams, yes, and our shared ideals have found a place in the court of reason. A vibrant, inclusive MUSO is an idea whose time has come. Accordingly, we the electorate dont ask much: we only ask that which you promised to give us. Revamp the systems, engender participatory governance, articulate student issues etc, and the student will feel fulfilled. When we voted for you, we didnt say we love you so much we wont take you to task! We are the same people wholl keep you on check, we will criticize you, we will oppose you, we will seek your impeachment if it comes to that, but above all, we will always pray for you and support you as we can. This is a contract ladies and gentlemen. Weve done our part, the task is up to you. To all those that didnt manage to get to the SGC, I seek not to comfort you, because you dont it as you didnt lose per se, but to remind you that competitive politics is a gamble where we all emerge winners. Kindly supported the elected from without. The fight was worth it. Lastly, id have the honour to echo the words of Kevin Mwiti, who is a friend and mentor that Vox Populi Vox Dei meaning that the voice of the people is the voice of God. Thank you Annexarians.
