Today an amazing group of people in funny clothes that Im proud to call my AmtFamily took up donations secretly to help me recoup what I lost in the robbery and I couldnt be more thankful. Next time you see those people in funny clothes, beating each other with foam in the park, stop and remember this before you poke fun. These guys didnt have to take money from their own pockets to help me replace what someone else stole and they did it anyway, without skipping a beat. Even with me continuously telling them not to. It was such a selfless act of kindness and Ill never be able to repay each of them or ever put into words how thankful I am for them and what they do for their own. I love you guys. 10 years in this game and Ive never seen a group that despite their differences can come together at a moments notice and do whatever it takes to make sure things are take care of, whether that be an event that needs help, a charity that needs money raised, or like today, helping one of their own. This takes me back to how I started this game. (Yes, you guys got me sentimental and teary eyed now. ) 10 years, many moons ago, my Momma and us 3 kids were moving into a new apartment by ourselves, furniture, beds, boxes, etc. And my little brother while at Amtgard made a mention of us moving and having to unload a U-Haul after field. Suchinder Dhillon overheard this and within minutes gathered a group of 10-15 of the guys and showed up at our door step to move. A move that would have taken us and Mom hours and days to finish, was done in less than an hour. When Mom asked what she could do to repay them for helping, Such simply told her that all they wanted was Mom and us kids to come to field the following Sunday, sign in, and truly give Amtgard a chance. Mom insisted that they take some kind of payment and was again given that same response. The following week we put together funny clothes, went out, signed in and 10 years later, here I still am. And again, blessed with another amazing act of kindness. Thank you guys. For everything.
