Today an old friend sent an email asking to call me, and I immediately sent him back my cell phone number. WHY is this such a momentous occasion worthy of a Facebook post (because God knows I only choose historic moments to write about on here)? Its because this is the FIRST TIME, in OVER TWO YEARS of having this current cell phone number, that I actually have known it without having to look it up in my contacts. Yes, until today, the only phone number Ive known by heart is my parents, which theyve had for quite a while. Now I know TWO. Im super proud of myself right now. But I cant promise Im still going to remember it tomorrow. Thats too big of a commitment. Change comes slowly. And today Im happy with this small step forward, into the past, where human memory once served a purpose. Hope youre all having a great weekend. Heart shape. Smiley face.
