Today, as we gather for worship at 9am, we will be focusing on Acts 16.16-34. In this passage we meet a slave girl who had a spirit of divination. Her owners found that this was very profitable for their business -- but then Paul cast the demon out of her, her owners became enraged and attacked Paul and Silas. They end up in prison and are miraculously set free. Here, freedom confronts the economic status of these business owners ----- who were profiting off of the ownership of a slave girl. When truth is spoken to the power systems there is a confrontation ----- now may we speak the truth that is found in Jesus Christ to those power systems as well.
