Today at Wells Fargo I was out with the sign about the cost of Arpaio for legal fees in the Melendres case. I have heard that the County will start filling the new MCSO office on Jackson and 6th Ave at the end of November. The first picture below is of a guy from yesterday but forgot to put his picture up. He told me that he was from the San Fernando Valley small town of Tijunga near Los Angele, but lives here now. He works in heating and ventilation and told me the rules for workers in attics where temperatures reach 140 degrees like the out side tents at Arpaios Tent City and he doesnt understand how the Federal Government can allow people to exist in those conditions. The second picture is of a lady who told me she has lived in Phoenix for 30 years, but is now homeless. She said she had spent time in the jails and she talked to me about the food and how Arpaio extorts money from thei inmates by making them pay a daily fee for their incarceration and also that the commissary is owned by members of the Arpaio family. She told me they feed them emu meet ( an ostrich like bird) and Arpaios brother in law owns the emu farm. The next picture is of a guy named Dave who has come by many times. I have seen him chase Arpaio into the Wells Fargo building yelling at him. I asked me why he feels so strongly today and he told me that his father is hispanic, Finally, the last person holding the Shutdown Arpaio sign told me he or she (not sure) is currently being railroaded into the criminal justice system. He/she was arrested for Class 3 Trespassing at the Quick Trip station near 28th St and Indian School. He/she has some inapparent disability. The system fills the units in the for profit private prison with people who have all kinds of disabilities and are desperate. My friend Terry came by today, I spoke about him yesterday. He is being charged with parole violation because he failed to report $15 of nutrition assistance in his medical marijuana card. Terry said he was in Court before lunch and did not know anymore about the case. He has mental disabiities. I would say that the judicial system prosecuting him is predatory, Terry is like a harmless person who will now fill another for profit prison unit. He doesnt have a chance and anyone speaking with him for 2 minutes would know his disabilities. I got another lunch delivered to me from Tommy Wilcox from the El Portal Grill. Thanks Tommy. Oh, theres an interesting guy who has been hanging out at the corner the past few days. Ive known of this guy for about 4 years. He disappears for long periods of time. Hes Jackson and hes an African American with an amputated leg and sits in an old wheelchair. He puts his hands over his mouth and makes the sound of an attacking dog when he pan handles. Today I heard him make the sound of a cat also, expanding his sounds. He talks to people asking them for 86 cent and if they say no, he asks for the P.I.N. number. Hes a major character, not well liked sometimes by bus drivers whove dealt with him. Ive seen one bus driver throwing him out of the bus and Jackson landed on the ground. But Jackson gets up, brushes himself off and keeps going, I asked him today if I could tape him, but he didnt answer me. I dont think he appreciated me asking. He does it to make money. Well see if he ever agrees. Hes one of a kind.
