Today at the Hackney Picture House, our exciting new short film will be premiered. City and Hackney Mind and Raw Material in partnership with Time to Change, have produced a short film which candidly explores the experience of Hackney locals who have faced stigma, discrimination and isolation due to mental health problems. My Story, Your Story presents the stories of four individuals who honestly explore their experiences of living with mental health problems. It gives the viewer a glimpse of the daily struggles they face, living not only with mental distress but also the rejection of others. My Story, Your Story encourages greater support for those who live with mental ill health and is a prime example of the diversity and courage of Hackney locals. The film will officially premier at Hackney Picturehouse on Monday 1st September, showing every 15 minutes between 1pm – 4pm for free. There will also be plenty of opportunities to chat more about the film over free refreshments.
