Today at the South LA shelter, Amanda assisted a family who were alerted that their Chihuahua had been taken to the shelter and was there waiting for them, safe and sound. How was this possible? This little dog had been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. The family was really happy to find him but were soon unhappy and very sad when they found out they owed $67.00 to get him out. With only $20.00 until November 1st, they thought they would need to wait until then to get him back. Amanda offered an alternative, DDR would pay the $47.00 difference and they got to take him home earlier this afternoon. The family discussed how he got out of the yard and have already fixed the gate. Another Chihuahua will not need to be rescued, adopted or transported to another state to possibly find his forever home, he is home!
