Today at the pool I spoke to a guy...my age, or a little older...about life, family, war and peace. He spoke of friends struggling here in Australia, with no work, little money, difficulties with language and social issues as well. He spoke of how he encourages his community to embrace their life here in Australia. Welcome the changes without compromising their integrity. Hold your beliefs without trying to force those beliefs on others. He spoke of peace. He spoke of harmony. He spoke of his old country, its ways, its culture. We both shared our life experiences and wished each other all the best for the upcoming week. We parted as friends. I was not concerned that he was a Muslim from Iraq initially just as he wasnt concerned that I was a Christian from Ireland. We both call Australia home! What a great country we live in. Peace. Tollerence. Appreciation of everyone. This will be the thing I drew from my visit to the pool today. What a great start to a weekend.
