Today at the shelter, we saw a couple coming out with their own dog, which had wound up in dog jail. The dog clearly had had puppies at some point, was pretty dirty - and I am guessing un-spayed. As they got in the car, one of the shelter staff ran out and caught them and said, "Wait! I have some flea medicine for your dog." The level of caring at MCAS blows me away. Every dog matters to them -- sometimes even more than to the owners. I am proud to be a volunteer for them.
