Today,at the vets, I met a GSD-Leo. Leo and my boy, Rio, were in a fight may be a year back. Even today the owner is afraid the dog might attack, not only other dogs but humans too. Let me be clear that is one stout GSD. While I was there, a boy who has just got a GSD: a 4 month old pup says, Muje mere kutte ko aggressive banana hai. HES A 4 MONTH PUPPY! Please understand that the dogs we bring in our homes are to be social. Not understanding what the dog needs and just seeing what the owner needs(here to portray oneself as the owner of an aggressive dog) creates an unstable dog. Makes a frustrated and stressful dog. Its not the right attitude. A dog needs a parent not an owner. I am writing this with a hope that someone looking to get a dog with this attitude or is raising one with such mindset will change the way one thinks and spread some awareness about the matter. Theres so much help on the internet to understand dog behavior. Please go through it. Adopting a dog is a serious job and it has to be taken seriously. Aggression and sense of security are not similar aspects. Create a security dog but not an out of control aggressive dog. Heres the youtube channel to Kikopup. Shes an excellent trainer who uses positive reinforcements to train the dogs and capture the wanted behavior. https://youtube/user/kikopup Also google Turid Rugaas Calming signals to understand the signals dog use to communicate. It might improve your relation with your dog.
