Today attended workshop on Tourism potential in J&K state chaired by Union Minister of Tourism, Culture and Civil Aviation. Presented to him proposal for the Development of ECO-Tourism in J&K state. Other dignitaries also expressed their views for the development of Tourism In J&K state. Proposal to declare DuDu valley as Cultural and Natural Heritage site was also submitted. Proposal to connect Seoj Dhar with road was also suggested. Development of Border wetlands for Bird Eco-Tourism was also suggested. Several suggestions from Tour and Travel Association were also submitted to revive tourism trade in Jammu which has suffered because of direct Rail link to Katra. Honble Minister listened to all suggestions very patiently and said that we may have to diversify our traditional Tourism activities and move towards villages for rural employment and sustainable livelihoods. He said that he will again visit state after 23rd and take concrete action on some of the suggestions put forth by the civil society of Jammu. For the first time in the history of Independent India Union Minister are coming to the public in Jammu and directly talking to them. This is Modis way of good governance.
