Today being the National Mashujaa Day in Kenya, I celebrate all - TopicsExpress

Today being the National Mashujaa Day in Kenya, I celebrate all Heroes and Heroines of Kenya and more specifically the ABASUBA Mashujaa, those who have worked very hard in their different capacities to bring pride to the Abasuba people. My respects to all the leaders of different ages, past and present, who (have) sacrificed their time and resources to give a meaning to the Suba people. In this occasion, I also celebrate Mzee Obende of Wakula Mfangano Island, a real Suba Hero, who has until today, rejected the fallacy of assimilation and has consistently guarded the beauty of Olusuba as his language of instruction at all levels. I celebrate Mr. Naphtaly Mattah whose records in the pursuit of full recognition of the Abasuba people speak for themselves. Thanks to him and his team, we can today read the Bible and several other literature in our own language. I also celebrate Mr. Jack Obonyo who is the brain behind the Abasuba Peace Museum. My respects to our leaders Hon.Millie Mabona and Judy Kamaria as well as many other daughters of Suba who have brought glory to our people. I cannot forget great suba leaders like Dr. Sam Oyugi, Mark Matunga, Eng. Odera, Silas Jakakiimba, Jasuba Wuoloo, Ken Jakakiimba Wuod Appeny, Pauline Oketch, Odera PH Wuodadori,Amos Kiangwe Sikweya, Tobias Nyakiya and many others who have and continue to shape the future of our young talented population. To my peers and my younger brothers and sisters like Odienge Jasuba, Maginga, Collins, Hassan,Kwach, Collins, Ochieng, Merccie, Jak, Kelly, Walwanda, Abwana, Robinson and many others on facebook and on other platforms; the new blood of Abasuba leadership, I celebrate all of you today. On this day, I also celebrate leaders like Hon. Nyakiamo and my late Dad Samwel Nyakiya as well as many other leaders in the vast Suba land who stood up strongly to demand for Suba District more than 20 years ago. As we celebrate this day, let us not forget that Kenya is 50 years into Independence, but the Suba people are still colonized by a system that calls them Luo-Abasuba. It is our duty to liberate our people and to give our people a voice in this Nation.
