Today, being the last day of the Jewish week, would be the Biblical Sabbath. So I wanted to write a little on the Sabbath today, I hope this short study enlightens and Blesses You. In the Levitical Law .. there were OTHER Sabbath, that included Food, New Moon, and Sabbath “DAYS” .. notice the term, “Sabbath Days” .. Meaning more than one day … Below is a list of the “Other Sabbaths” 7 days of Pesach (encompassing Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and Feast of First Fruits) 1 day for Hag Ha Shavuot (Feast of Pentecost) 1 day for Yom Teruah (Feast of Trumpets and Rosh Hashana) 1 day for Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) 7 days for Sukkot (Feast of Booths) 1 day for Shmini Atzeret (Eight Day of Assembly/Tabernacles) The seven festivals do not necessarily occur on weekly Shabbat (7th Day Sabbath) and are called by the name miqra ("The called assembly" Leviticus 23). Three of them occur in spring .. The first and seventh days of Pesach (Passover) Shavuot (Pentecost). Four occur in fall, in the seventh month, Rosh Hashanah (Trumpets) Yom Kippur (Atonement) And the first and eighth days of Sukkoth (Tabernacles). THESE, are the Sabbaths spoken about by Paul in Colossians 2:16 **SO WHY, Keep the Ten Commandments** … The 10 Commandments of God .. Are all Based around “Love” the first 4 are about Loving God …. And the last 6 are about Loving each other. In Hebrew, the word Law, means Torah, the first five books of the Bible. Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. The Strong’s Concordance word is 8451 Torah: meaning: direction, instruction, and later “law”. The term “LAW” gives us the idea and feeling of being restricted in some way, and that’s not the way God intended it to be … The Hebrew people understood that, and we should too. The Commandments are not a law at all, But rather Gods instructions, directions, Gently guiding us in the ways to live a healthy, prosperous life, By Loving God, and each other. Jesus says that the Sabbath was made for man .. And not man for the Sabbath .. Now doesn’t that sound like a Special Day, set aside by a Loving parent, as a gift of Blessings & Favor, to their child .. Of Course it does .. Why .. Because it is …. Working 7 days a week will KILL Any Human .. Thank God, for his Blessing of the Sabbath Rest .. He built it in, Right from the very beginning of the World. ** So How do we KNOW, that the Sabbath Command is not passed** Isaiah 66:22-23 For as the new heavens and the new earth (ref: Revelation 21:1), which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one ****Sabbath to another***, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord. This is a time After the Judgment .. In the New Heavens and NEW Earth. The Sabbath is Forever .. Its perpetual Covenant, Exodus 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath (“throughout their generations“) ****for a perpetual covenant**** perpetual meaning Forever. Exodus 31:17 ***It is a sign*** between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. (We are Grafted In as Paul Teaches in Romans 11:24 .. meaning “Israelite’s by Adoption, Through Christ, Into the Family and Kingdom of Almighty GOD) Exodus 31:18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God. ***(Written by the Finger of GOD himself .. Gods Law .. Not the Law of Moses)*** I have said SO LITTLE, on a Large Topic that I genuinely hope you will diligently study in the depth of GODS Word. With Much Hope and Love, Will Matherly
