Today could NOT have been possible without a last minute crew member, and last minute pacer. Jack Curtis, whom I had never met, sent me a message to say he lived 3 hours away and wanted to come crew. Then Scott Myers, whom I ran back-and-forth with in last 20 miles of Western States offered to drive out from Toronto to pace all 30 miles. Kate Martini Freeman could NOT be here, but she packed my drop bags and left these amazing notes from so many friends. I got teary eyed out there every note I opened. Thanks, Jennifer & JB Benna, Vivian Hartman, Jenny Welch, Joe Kulak, and anyone else I missed. So proud of a sick-as-a-dog Andy Kumeda too, who ALSO ran a sub-20 in 19:52! Sick!!! Animal. Body is wrecked. Feet, toes, toenails, groin, theres gonna be a lot of pain the next few days... ugh.
