Today during our Bible Study at the Hancock County Jail, I had - TopicsExpress

Today during our Bible Study at the Hancock County Jail, I had flashbacks of 2 very different songs from back in the day. The first which most have heard of, Another One Bites the Dust, because another inmate came to faith in Christ today. And the second one, less well known, which I learned in a small, spirit-filled church almost 30 years ago, Somebody Touched Me. In my first pastorate at Port William UM Church, occassionally we would sing this song where each verse was almost exactly the same, except for 1 word that would alternate with the 7 days of the week in each of the 7 verses, starting with Monday and eventually ending with Sunday. Which ever day of the week you became a Christian, you would stand during the singing of that verse and remain standing for the rest of the song. Of course, most people ended up finally standing on the last verse because many people had come to Christ in church on a Sunday. God brought this song to mind today when I realized that all of the inmates present in our prison ministry Bible study had finally come to put their trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior over the past 4 months, each of them on a Thursday, the day of our weekly study. So, I had them all stand and sing together: It was on a Thursday, Somebody touched me. It was on a Thursday, Somebody touched me. It was on a Thursday, Somebody touched me. Must have been the hand of the Lord.
