Today five St Louis Rams walked onto the field with their hands up - TopicsExpress

Today five St Louis Rams walked onto the field with their hands up in support of Michael Brown who was shot in Ferguson. You can see the video below. This display is in very poor taste and these players should probably be fined and perhaps suspended by their team or the league. First, these were five African American players that were doing this. There were not any white players doing the gesture along with these five. This ultimately adds fuel to the fire of the racial chasm that exists. These guys are demonstrating racial divides on a team where there is suppose to be an amazing unity. Second, this shows a great disregard for the legal system our nation is established on. You may not agree with the decision. But, to wear a uniform that represents a team and a league and spit on the integrity of the U.S. Justice system is deplorable and should be followed with fines and perhaps suspensions. Finally, this shows that these professional athletes are more willing to listen to the media narrative rather than the facts of the case. The very phase, Hands Up, Dont shoot is not a part of the testimony in this case. It was created for the story and the media continued to hype it. This is a sad commentary on these athletes. Please, dont encourage your kids to make pro athletes their heros. There are much greater examples than these guys! Many athletes are good people. But, some are simply boneheads! rams.247sports/Bolt/Rams-acknowledge-Ferguson-with-hands-up-pregame-gesture-33412931
