Today for #TBT Ron remembers Glen Quick and the time Ron and his wife ate fish, caught by Quick Fisheries, in Europe! TBT -Anquilles au Vert sounds rather exotic as a famous dish served at the finest restaurants of Bruge Belgium. In fact it is considered one of their specialties. After enjoying a tasty meal Joan Brown Waddling asked if the fish was caught in the local Atlantic waters. ‘Non madame, c’est l’anquille de Presqu’ile’ (It is eel from Presqu’ile) Joan said ‘I live at Presqu’ile Canada’. The waiter said, ‘Then this is your eel’. Yes, Quick Fisheries Gosport provided eel along with many other Lake Ontario catches to the finest restaurants in Europe. Along with operating a respected fishing business, Glen Quick contributed a dedicated interest in a quality of life for Brighton and the entire Municipality through many positions in local government.
